Coming Soon: Joel's newest book, "Scale Your Business, Scale Your Life!"

We live in a time of economic volatility where inflation quietly erodes purchasing power, automation threatens traditional jobs, and corporate layoffs have become a seasonal ritual. The days of working thirty years for a pension and gold watch are over. For most people, their paycheck is fixed, but the cost of living is not — and that’s a losing equation.
The reality is simple: if you don’t own, you’re being owned. Whether it’s your job, your schedule, or your income, someone else is making the decisions that shape your future. The only way to preserve and multiply your financial interests, not just for you, but for your children’s children, is to build something you can control. Ownership is the new security.
You don’t have to be born into opportunity to build it. You don’t need more luck, you need more leverage. Through the right systems, stewardship, and mindset, anyone can transform an idea, skill, or service into a vehicle for financial freedom.
Business ownership isn’t just about profit, it’s about positioning. It’s about understanding that every dollar can be a seed, not just a paycheck. When managed with discipline and strategy, your business becomes more than income, it becomes an engine for generational wealth.
As a faith-driven entrepreneur, Joel E. Davis calls himself a “Biblical Capitalist.” He believes that God’s order is clear: God first, then your spouse, then your children, then your business — but the business funds the mission. When managed properly, enterprise is a form of stewardship. It allows families to thrive, communities to grow, and legacies to endure.
True capitalism isn’t about greed, it’s about growth. It’s about multiplying what God has entrusted to you so that you can bless others and leave an inheritance that outlives you.
For those limited by time or money, the path to freedom isn’t found in working harder, it’s found in working smarter. Through enhanced strategy and disciplined execution, you can build leverage that buys back your time and amplifies your impact.
For the seasoned entrepreneur who feels stuck or plateaued, there’s still more ground to claim. Sometimes all it takes is the right strategy to reignite your momentum , to simplify what’s complicated, eliminate what’s wasteful, and rediscover the "why" in your purpose.

Everyone, regardless of age, education, or financial situation, should own a business in some form. Not because everyone needs to build a massive company, but because business ownership unlocks three life-changing advantages: increased earning potential, enhanced tax strategy, and asset protection.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”
Business ownership can be faith in action. It’s where vision meets discipline, where diligence becomes an act of worship, and strategy transforms into stewardship.
Entrepreneurship is more than a career path, it is a calling to create, to serve, and to build. Every business, large or small, holds the potential to reflect divine order, creativity, and excellence.
You don’t have to build the next Amazon; just build something you can own Ownership is freedom, and freedom allows you to live out your purpose without compromise and to serve others through your gifts.
Raised in upstate New York by a single mother, Joel grew to become a standout tight end and defensive end where he also served as captain of the Binghamton High School Football team. As the youngest of seven, Joel was intent on following his two older brothers to the United States Military Academy at West Point, but unlike his brothers, Dan and Ted, Joel first attended West Point's preparatory school (USMAPS) at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, where he earned "Lineman of the Year" awards for his performance on the football field.
Upon graduation from USMAPS, Joel entered West Point to join his brother Dan, a senior and team captain of the 1992 Army Football Team. One of a small handful of plebes to earn a varsity letter, Joel was able to finish the 1992 season playing alongside his brother on the defensive line beating Navy 25-24.
While at West Point, Joel majored in pre-law and minored in systems engineering. As a three year starter, Joel was elected team captain of the 1995 Army Football Team, was an ECAC All-Conference lineman, and invited to play in the East West Shrine Game in Stanford, CA.

As a senior at West Point, Joel was courted by a number of NFL team, but with his service commitment being rather unknown, rather than being drafted, Joel signed one of the highest undrafted free agent contract at that time with the Cincinnati Bengals following the 1996 draft.
Upon graduation, Joel was commissioned as a Field Artillery officer and stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, when he would periodically take leave to attend mini-camps in Cincinnati. Following his honorable discharge, Joel returned to Cincinnati to join the Bengals fill-time. After recovering from a broken wrist, Joel was released by the Bengals in 1998 - his first experience in learning that the NFL can really mean "Not for Long" and that being a professional athlete definitely has a shelf life.
In 1999 Joel signed with the Indianapolis Colts and again in 2000, but following his release, rather than signing with the Eagles or the Saints he elected to return home to pursue his entrepreneurial spirit by starting a business he had researched while between teams, a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) business.

The same tenacity and leadership Joel learned on the football field and while at West Point carried over to his professional career. Starting with a single vehicle and no prior experience, Joel leveraged his greatest assets, discipline and strong work ethic. Within a short few years of hard work and scaling, Joel accumulated sizeable regional contracts with area hospitals, medical centers, various nursing facilities and senior communities. His compounding success was inspiration for his best-selling book, "How to Build a Million Dollar Medical Transportation Company," which has been described by many providers as the "Bible of the NEMT industry."
Later, as founder of the United Medical Transportation Company (UMTPG), and in taking on the role of coach and mentor to client-providers across the country, Joel quickly became the most recognized name in the NEMT industry and later the home care industry with his strategic launch of Home Care Access.
Joel's expertise has made him one of the most sought-after figures in the NEMT industry to include periodically serving as an expert witness in legal disputes involving medical transportation, conducting an untold number of valuations, acquisitions, and business audits. Joel's mentorship extends to every area of the business lifecycle: contract negotiations, service agreements, facility partnerships, and operational strategy.
Today, the UMTPG is more than an organization, it is a movement built on Joel’s vision of empowering providers to succeed in one of the fastest-growing sectors in healthcare. With unmatched experience, a proven record of results, and a relentless commitment to the entrepreneurs he serves, Joel Davis and UMTPG continue to shape the future of the NEMT industry.

In addition to coaching and mentoring business owners and entrepreneurs, Joel also devoted many years to investing in the lives of young men - many of whom, like him, came from broken homes, using football as a platform to teach life lessons.
From 2007 to 2013, and again briefly in 2024, Joel served as the Assistant Head Coach at Binghamton High School, where he had the privilege of coaching numerous All-Star athletes, but more importantly, remarkable young men.
